Searching for Property
In 2020, we began looking for a place to escape the city and connect with nature. During our search, a property in the Maine woods caught our attention—but what really captivated us was a nearby waterfall and a natural swimming hole.
Tucked at the end of a quiet, dead-end road, the 15-acre lot felt like a secret retreat. We explored the wet, moss-covered trail through rocky woods until we reached the stream—and in that moment, we fell in love.
We submitted an offer and included a heartfelt letter to the owner, sharing what the land meant to us. Thankfully, our offer was accepted. And that’s how our adventure—and the Florence Farmstead—began.
I didn’t know it then, but this land would also help me return to something else I love: painting. The quiet woods, shifting seasons, and the light on the water would later find their way into my work, one brushstroke at a time.
