An Invitation to Our Journey

 

Hi, and welcome to Florence Farmstead. We’re Nick and Brandy—a husband and wife team with roots in Portland, Maine, and hearts set on building a life closer to the land.

In 2020, we purchased 15 acres of forest in rural Maine with a dream of creating something meaningful from scratch—a space where we could live simply, sustainably, and creatively. What began as a longing to reconnect with nature has grown into a deeper journey of building a home, growing our own food, and making art inspired by the land itself.

Florence Farmstead is both a work in progress and a reflection of what we value most: love, intention, hard work, and the joy of creating together. Whether we’re smoking food over a fire, crafting handmade goods, or watching the seasons change from our canvas tent, we’re always finding inspiration in the everyday rhythms of life on this land.

Our website is a window into that life—offering a collection of handmade paintings, ornaments, and printed works of art, alongside thoughtfully chosen items that support our way of living. Many of Brandy’s paintings are directly inspired by the forest trails, mossy rocks, and quiet beauty of the farmstead.
