Awaken is born from an early morning walk on my land in Maine—a place that is a dream come true for me and my husband to own. As the sunbeams spread through the branches that morning, it felt as though the forest and I were awakening together. I painted this to make the sun truly shine, infusing the colors with the literal warmth and connection I felt. Through these glowing leaves, I hope the viewer feels the peace of the forest waking up around them.
