“The Arrival” is inspired by a moment at dusk when a barred owl glided overhead just as we stepped onto the new platform for our home. Barred owls are a comforting part of our nights out here, and we often fall asleep to their calls. Seeing one appear so quietly that evening felt like a gentle acknowledgment from the land. This painting holds the stillness and meaning of that memory.
